This week has been most excellent, after almost a year of squinting in the Australian sun without sunglasses I have finally acquired a new pair.

I have a rather awful habit of sitting on my sunglasses which is why i've gone so long without. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these new babies don't succumb to the same tragic fate as the rest... (doubtable) I really do love them!
Unfortunately I have no picture of my 2009 glasses... A smashing pair of round Lennon glasses, I loved them so much that I refused to acknowledge the strong prescription lenses. After many headaches and eye strains they were sent back to the charity store from whence they came.
Does anyone else struggle with sunglass or eyeglass upkeep, or am I truly alone?
I'm lucky to have never broken a pair but I constantly lose them!

DeleteI have broken them, lost them and bought way too many pairs to keep track of. It is a shame. My favorite pair was from 2004 when I had burgundy heart sunglasses. Yours are all so lovely! x

DeleteThree years ago, I broke 4 pairs of sunglasses in 2 months, I was horrible! (not expensive ones, mind you) They're generally broken by being buried at the bottom of my bag. I love your latest pair!

DeleteAmazing, I love the dress you are wearing in the 2012 picture too! That photobooth shot is a dream. My favourite pair of sunglasses are probably my Ray Bans, although they replaced my old favourite pair which I broke whilst I was in Paris last year, a vintage pair with swirly swan wing arms, everyone always thought they were on upside down but I love them so! x

DeleteThese are such pretty pictures! I don't usually wear sunglasses because I don't have any prescription ones. I have contacts, but I generally hate them and don't wear them much. BUT that doesn't mean that I don't have a sunglasses collection that I never wear lol. I had a wonderful pair of regular glasses from 2005 to 2008 and my boyfriend sat on them (I don't know why they weren't on my face to begin with) and they were completely destroyed. I was so upset that I cried! He felt really bad, too. But I've since gotten better frames so it all worked out :)

Aw Mabel! Glasses just seem to gravitate to places where they will be squished by buttocks, I don't know what it is!! Luckily I don't wear eye glasses, if I did i'd be in serious trouble x

I am utterly terrible with my sunglasses! They're constantly being sat on, stood on, falling off my head, left on tables in cafes in foreign countries (RIP genuine Ray Ban Wayfarers from my mum's youth left in a bar in Capri!) and so on. My current pair have been doing really well though- they were 80c from a street market in Hanoi, and although they've been through the washing machine twice and spent 6 months lost in the abyss of my junk in my bedroom, they're still vigilantly protecting my eyes!

DeleteIt's a good thing that you're able to get those new pair of glasses. Having your glasses broken is really sad. I think most people really likes Ray Bans.
