During these last few weeks in Melbourne I am trying to revisit some of my very favorite haunts one last time. St Kilda has treated us so well and I think I'm really going to miss the amazing summer sunsets most of all.
In summer's past we would make dinner and take it down to the seaside to eat every evening. The sun doesn't set until around 9pm so we would laze on the grass and talk about one day traveling to America as the sun slowly disappeared into the water. I never really thought much of those summer nights but now that our Melbourne days are numbered I am filled with nostalgia and a yearning for one more of those nights.

I can't get over how gorgeous that picture is - somehow, it seems to convey the weight of how this is one of the last times you will visit that particular spot.

Yes its true that picture has captured that feel. I dont know what it is about that city of Melbourne and St Kilda but from many miles to the north I find myself thinking about it regularly.
ReplyDeleteLooking again just realised you are standing on the road between The Palais and Luna Park two of my favourite places in the world.
ReplyDeleteAww what a sweet story :)
