A big hello from California! It's been one hell of a fortnight, from bottomless cups of jo and cherry pie to breaking down on the freeway and having to sleep in a junk yard... We've stumbled through every possible obstacle but have kept our weary heads up and managed to have a smashing time.

With the worst behind us we are now on the road living out of a handsome '91 Dodge. We'll be spending the next few nights under the redwoods at Big Sur before slowly making our way up the coast to San Francisco.

If the USA doesn't break me it will surely leave me rotund and boozy. The price of living is so incredibly cheap and try as I might I just can't keep my paws off all the beer and tasty burgers!
