I've wanted to visit the Museum of Natural History ever since I read The Catcher in the Rye as a teenager. I became overly fascinated with the place and dreamed of the day when I'd be gazing at the Eskimos which Holden Caulfield found so captivating.
Last week Oli and I ventured into the museum, wide eyed and pockets full of snacks. It was even greater than I'd imagined. We arrived late in the afternoon when admission is free so only made it to the African Hall and Dinosaur floor before closing. I rather like the idea of unveiling the exhibitions one by one rather than seeing everything in one fell swoop, so many future visits to look forward to!
"The best thing, though, in that museum was that everything always stayed right where it was. Nobody'd move . . . . Nobody'd be different. The only thing that would be different would be you."
