Autumn Song

Cloche - gift from Oli's Ma
1950s sweater - gift from my housemate
Fletcher Jones skirt - gift from my Mum
Shoes - Chelsea Crew
1950s seamed stockings - Ebay

It wasn't until I wrote this post that I realised I was wearing an almost entirely gifted outfit, what a lucky lass I am! This past Monday I was delighted to have one of my favourite gal pal's Anja in town. I caught up for a tipple with Emily, Amy and Anja at a old fashioned bar in Williamsburg, it was the very best way to kick off the working week. Anywhere that adorns the tabletops with flickering candles and labels the bathroom the 'WC' is the place for me.

The past few nights Oli and I nestled ourselves in the loft and indulged in our new obsession, The X-Files. I was always too terrified to watch it as a kid and to be honest I am still pretty scared. I do a lot of hands over the eyes and I've had a fair few spooky nightmares this week but its well worth it if I get to eyeball Mulder episode after episode. I'd love to hear about your favourite television series, past or present!

  1. This outift is serioulsy amazing and I have to admit that I am very jealous of your Cloche. Beautiful pictures, the colours are always perfect.

Ha ha I too used to be so scared of The X Files, even the title music had be freaking out. I actually still havent watched it, even though i'm sure I would love it now.
Hmmm that's a really tough questions, probably Twin Peaks ( obvs) and Carnivale. We are really behind on catching up with Mad men, Boardwalk Empire and Downton Abbey, so many to watch so little time. :-) I also really like two British Comedy series Alan Partridge and Spaced. Have you seen them? So funny. xx

    1. Thank you darling <3

I used to run from the room when the title music begun, now I find myself whistling it most days. I love all those shows too! Oli and I watched Spaced last year and loved it so much, British humour is the greatest! I'll have to check out Alan Partridge next xx

  5. For startes, this look is right up my alley, especially the colours, they're yumm!! I used to be a fanatic for the Xfiles when I was in college - yep, I'm pretty much older than you, eheh - and I had the nickname Laura Palmer for a couple of years after the Art Deco nickname died - I basically let my bob grow, ahah. I loved that show, really, but to be honest my faves also incluede MIss Marple, Sherlock Holmes - with Jeremy Brett - and Poirot - David Suchett, always - and my all time fave - taht if you haven't seen it, please do, you WILL love it, I swear - The House of Elliot!! Nowadays I'm nuts for The Walking Dead, American Horror Story - can you spot the pattern here? - Boardwalk Empire, Tru Blood - yes, it's Mr. Skarsgaard's fault... and Downton Abbey.

    2. Your nicknames are killing me, so so good! Twin Peaks, Boardwalk Empire and Sherlock Holmes with JB are some of my favourites too.

I haven't yet seen The House of Elliot but strangers are always recommending it to me, think its about time for me to check it out! I watched about 2 minutes of American Horror Story and freaked out.. Maybe I oughta stick to the period dramas hehehe xx

  6. You look absolutely stunning! Only you can pull off that hair and a cloche hat and combine it with a 1950s outfit and still look totally cool and haute fashion :) xx

  7. You are such a classy, beautiful lady! Exquisite sense of style! I want that cloche hat so bad! I just purchased a furry brown one (Kangol) via ebay and these hats are really flattering. And your bobbed hair is so awesomely pretty!

TV series: Pan Am (nice 60's outfits and airlines), American Horror Story (interesting concept of horror), The L Word, Boardwalk Empire (currently my favourite), Dexter, Mildred Pierce, Six Feet Under, Twin Peaks, Sopranos, Whitechapel (if you're into Jack the Ripper), Breaking Bad (worth watching), Shameless, Lip Service, Satisfaction, Queer as Folk.

    1. Thank you so much <3 Your new hat sounds beautiful!

I love the sound of Pan Am, i'm a sucker for 60's air hostess uniforms. Isn't Mildred Pierce the greatest? I really want to re-watch for outfit inspiration but I know I'll have to dedicate a whole weekend to it as I can't stop at one episode. Whitechapel sounds right up my alley, i'm not great with modern horror but am really into period films/television of any genre xx
