A St Kilda sunset

Photograph by Mont Clare

During these last few weeks in Melbourne I am trying to revisit some of my very favorite haunts one last time. St Kilda has treated us so well and I think I'm really going to miss the amazing summer sunsets most of all.

In summer's past we would make dinner and take it down to the seaside to eat every evening. The sun doesn't set until around 9pm so we would laze on the grass and talk about one day traveling to America as the sun slowly disappeared into the water. I never really thought much of those summer nights but now that our Melbourne days are numbered I am filled with nostalgia and a yearning for one more of those nights.

I'm currently having a last chance sale in my etsy shop I have added a handsome selection of one off dresses made with vintage and remnant fabrics. The Enid Plaid is my very favourite, lets just say my heart won't be broken if she doesn't sell and has to come with me to the US....

In two weeks time i'll be moving out of my darling apartment and staying with friends for a week. Sadly this mean i'll be selling my trusty industrial sewing machine and will be unable to take on any made to order dresses after March 31st. Ready made dresses will be available until April 7th.

You are the light

Photograph by Mont Clare

Just wanted to pop by and say howdy. I have been sewing away day and night, trying to get through the mammoth list of dresses that have to be completed in the next three weeks. Hopefully by this time next week I will be seeing streaming rays of light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks to all the lovely ladies who have taken the time to share some must see US nature spots, it means so much to me. Not long to go now, in under a month i'll be eating more hotdogs and cherry pie than my small hands can hold!

Picnic at Hanging Rock

Photographs by Mont Clare

To celebrate my sweethearts 24th year we took a road trip to Hanging Rock. I'm so glad we made the trip before leaving Melbourne as it was so incredibly beautiful. We hauled a picnic up to the summit and Oli coerced me into some pretty serious rock climbing in my stocking feet. It was well worth it in the end as we perched on the very highest rock and looked out over the amazing countryside whilst indulging in one of the tastiest picnics i've had to date.

One of my favourite parts of the day was all the fellow hikers that would chortle "Don't get lost...." as they walked past. It was so cheesy but in the best kind of way. Despite my somewhat inappropriate hiking attire I really enjoy being out in nature and cannot wait to visit some wonderful national parks in the US... in only one months time (wow) If anyone has any recommendations please do share.

We were joined in the evening by our darling friend Dette for a super tasty Japanese feast, but thats a story for another day.

Happy Birthday Oli, heres to many more together <3
