Dette and I at our favourite Flinders Street Photobooth back in March
Moving to a new country has been surprisingly easy, after a few awkward days of adjusting to the currency (why do all the notes look the same?), food (since being here i've suffered acne for the very first time) and lingo (i've received puzzled looks when using the words 'lolly' and 'bung') we felt right at home. However, leaving family and friends behind absolutely blows. Sometimes all I want is to simultaneously swill a bottle of vodka on the beach with Dette, whilst eating homemade burritos and watching S.L.O.U with Michelle and spending countless hours giggling on the phone with my Ma.
Luckily I can keep in touch with everyone, if it wasn't for the wonderful interwebz i'd be feeling much further away. I guess I just wanted to write this post to let everyone back home know that although far apart, you all have a little spot in my heart annnnnnd i'm only ever a plane ride away ;)
This week we have said hello and goodbye to Washington State and found ourselves camping in Walmart car parks across Idaho, this State sure has a lot of potato pride. Today we are heading to Yellowstone where we will spend 5 ays or so hiking and i'll be trying desperately to work off the last 7 weeks of overindulgence.
