The last four days have been spent camping out in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We took many a hike, Oli started many a rip roaring fire and we stumbled upon many a cabin deep in the woods, this darling little guy had to be my very favourite. I found it hard not to picture us spending the rest of our days on its quaint little front porch gazing out at the picturesque mountain peaks with warm cups of tea in our paws.
The blouse I'm wearing in these photographs is near and dear to my heart. Mum bought it in Sydney in 1974 before heading overseas for the very first time. It travelled with her to just about every island in the South Pacific and to many other exotic destinations. I will have to dig up my favourite photo of her wearing it at the airport surrounding by a bevy of friends and family, all decked out in the most amazing 70's threads. I wore it like a badge of honour when I first ventured overseas in 2008 and was delighted when she handed it to me once again before we departed from Sydney last year.

That looks amazing, my Dad and I are building a cabin this year in Castlemaine (not so wild) but I loooove looking at cabins for ideas! You look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSuch dreamscape! I envy your journeys so much. It's a real gift combining visually stunning Photography with your concept of personal style... not to mention your writing. This blog is beyond inviting. I guess that because of your image and figure, I had more guts when it came to bob my hair after years of long hair.
