Upon embarking on our second all American road trip we decided to revisit a few spots on the West Coast that had left their marks on our hearts. The destination at the top of this list was Big Sur. We spent a glorious three days here last April and I couldn't bare to leave the USA without one last journey to the ancient redwoods. As luck would have it, our beloved campsite #8 was awaiting us with open arms.
Days on the road are usually filled to the brim with driving, pawing through antique stores and searching for somewhere to pull over and slumber once the sun sets. To be in one place for more than 24 hours feels like quite a luxury. I've whittled away the hours down by the river reading Great Expectations. I always feel a tad stand offish when I begin reading classic literature, but as usual I've been won over by the charms of yesteryear.
With only a handful of chapters to go I'd love to hear some recommendations for my next read!

Ohh, I think this would quite possibily be my favourite place too! What a beauty! <3 <3 <3

ReplyDeleteIf it's another classic read you're after, "Anna Karenina" is rather lovely. "War and Peace" is bollocks, however. Thomas Hardy is always divoonly tragic, too.
