After diving head first into the Deep South we finally made it to the West Coast! I wanted to quickly stop in and say howdy doo before we disappear yet again, this time into the depths of Yosemite National Park. We are fresh out of Joshua Tree and golly does it seem strange to be back in civilization after five days of desert camping.
It sure was hard to pull our selves away from the howling coyotes, handsome cacti and some of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen, but I'm sure Yosemite will hold its own in the scenic stakes. During our stay I embraced a sort of Picnic at Hanging Rock meets 1920s desert dweller look and discovered (to quote little Edie) that it was indeed the very best costume for the day.

Good heavens Katie, you manage to look gorgeous even in the middle of the desert!!! Ahhh right now I'm so busy with deadlines that I wish I could run away from the city and spend even just one day like you guys are doing, far from everything and possibly unreachable ;)

Enjoy your time in Yosemite NP! I was just there in November, and it was the best place that I have ever visited. If you can, (if it isn't too snowy) you should do the walk to Vernal Falls, it is a short 3-4 hr walk, a bit steep, but just wonderful. Can't wait to see the photos that you both take there.
ReplyDeleteWow what incredible photos. You look stunning in that simple, gorgeous ensemble, and the photography is breathtaking. The image of you and the shadows will stay with me a long time. Is your other half a professional photographer? If not he really should be!
ReplyDeleteWe're totally snowed in here and so I've been in my granny's couture 30s red tapestry coat - I think you and I have a similar approach to dressing up in remote, unforgiving climes! Enjoy your adventures, and do pop by my blog and tell me what you think sometime.

Beutiful dreamy pictures! Olive has a really good perspective:)
ReplyDeleteDon't you get scared of coyotes or smth.else wild once in the middle of wild life? I ask because we also think to go to this kind of places:)
All of your posts are so incredibly dreamy. I'm so jealous. I've always wanted to wander the dessert. My love for this post is great.
