Greetings from Charleston, South Carolina! After triumphantly overcoming a somewhat rocky start to our journey, we are finally on the open road again, sleeping in forests, listening to Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti on repeat and living like gypsies. With many rolls of film yet to develop I thought I'd share some shots from the last leg of our road trip.
Back in May Oli and I took a trip to North Bend, Washington, the home of Twin Peaks. We visited the Hotel Great Northern, Ronette's bridge, the winding road from the opening credits and a bunch of smaller landmarks. The handsome picture of Woody was taken from the spot where Laura and Donna picnicked and danced with James Hurley.
The highlight of the day had to be drinking a damn fine cup of coffee and eating cherry pie at the Double R Diner (Twede's). I got so darn caught up in the moment that I could've sworn Bobby Brigg's was sitting right opposite me...

he does look a bit like him! imagine if he had turned into B... (i can't even type it, *shudders*)

Amazing! I watched all of Twin Peaks last winter and became slightly obsessed with it - inspiration for my own road trip one day.

ReplyDeleteI'm such a huge fan of Ariel Pink! So glad to know you're a fan! His weirdness catches people off guard but he's such an oustanding and talented songwriter.
ReplyDeleteI love this so much. I am just now getting my love into Twin Peaks. How surreal it must be to visit!

I got all confused because I thought "I didn't see that diner in Charleston, huhhhhh?" Then it all made sense. There's a Twin Peaks pie party in Sydney next weekend, I'm trying to decide whether it can even come close to this.
ReplyDeleteSo now I am utterly Jealous! I'll let you off though as your photo's make me feel like I had been right there with you. So amazing. xx
