Nothing But Flowers

The Nothing But Flowers Dress - available now in my etsy store

Sheesh, these past few weeks have come and gone in the blink of an eye! I've been sewing the days away, dancing into the wee hours of the morning and meeting some lovely new Sydney buddies!

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the Great Gatsby premiere at the Ritz Randwick with the lovely duo behind Like Johnny and June and my bobbed soul sister Eloise (hi guys!). For those of you who have seen Gatsby, I'd love to know what you thought. It has been one of my very favourite books for many years now, I don't think any film adaptation could ever live up to my expectations. However, those extravagant party scenes left me determined to stage an equally sparkly soiree of my own!

Lately I've been working on a bunch of new designs in handsome velvet, broderie anglaise and my love of all loves, brocade. I'll be posting these new designs before too long, but in the mean time I wanted to share this darling that I made a few weeks back. Sewn of the softest Japanese cotton voile with the most delicate floral design, the Nothing But Flowers dress has officially won my heart.

  1. Your dress is such a beautiful shape and the pattern is gorgeous! So beautifully made!

  2. It was so great meeting you!
We hope to have many coffees in the future. We're already discussing a day trip to the mountains in the next couple of weeks! This dress is beautiful too, some of your finest work! I was showing people I work with and Keira loves this dress, its just not in her size on your etsy listing. Do you have any more fabric? also, do you customise pieces? she's not a huge fan of high necklines, but she loves the fabric and shape etc. Let me know and I can put you two in touch :)
    Hope to see you soon!

    1. Oh yes that would be wonderful if you guys came up to the mountains! Thanks so much, I do have more of this fabric and can make it in different styles if she's not a high neck kinda gal :) Hope you're surviving the uni madness!

  3. Ohh you look amazing as always! That dress is so beautiful, you are so talented :) I haven't seen the Great Gatsby, I was supposed to go watch it but then I saw the trailer and it was nothing I thought it would be, it looked like too modern .. I don't know :/

  4. Sweetest Katie-Louise,

Hi right back at you! And, broderie anglaise, -as well as- velvet?! You maketh my day!

    Xx Eloise

  5. This is one of my absolute favorites of yours! So so lovely- what a beautiful print, and that collar is perfection. It has officially won my heart too!

  6. I can't believe you don't have to style your hair, it makes me so jealous!!! I'm bobbed to and my hair needs so much styling to look like this :(

  7. What a dress! Really perfect dress! You look gorgeous, I saw your older posts too.
I m glad that I discovered your blog!

  8. Ohhh you said the magic words: velvet and brocade! *_* Today is raining like mad in Turin and I'm kind of in the mood to wear autumny frocks and wrap myself into a warm scarf... I look forward to admire your lovely new designs!

I'm so glad to have eventually found someone with the exact same feeling about Gatsby :) Also, I personally love the character of Jordan Baker and in some way I wish the movie made her a bit more justice :) But I have to say it was visually absolutely incredible, the production goodness!

  9. So much on your blog to catch up on but i'll start here. I hope you're okay? Sending you lots of love to help sweeten those lemons.
I was not quick enough to nab that lovely Bunny dress when you reduced it. I don't think it was in my size anyway. I love the print on this one too, it reminds me of William Morris. You are a very clever lady. xxx

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, I just love hearing from you x
