The Churchyard

Vintage tweed coat - clothing swap
1940s lace ups and leather gloves - Christmas gifts from Tim
1940s fur cape - Addison Road Markets
Vintage carpet bag - Rozelle Markets
Beret - Myer

It's become a nice little Sunday morning tradition to pop to the local markets, grab some breakfast at a local cafe (this weekend was Daisy's Milkbar in Petersham, Sydney siders I can't recommend this joint enough) and snap some outfit shots.  This morning I left the house thinking I was fairly toasty but boy how these Sydney winters chill me to the bone. Thankfully the first market stall we happened upon had this handsome 1940s fur cape for a right steal. I'll tell you what, I couldn't whip the clams out of my wallet fast enough!

Come to think of it, I've been on a bit of a lucky streak clothing wise for the past few weeks. Peeking out from under this ensemble is the most incredible 1940s black wool suit that I still can't believe is mine. I'll be dedicated a post to the little darling just as soon as I attend to a few minor mends... story of my life.

I hope everyones had a swell week, mine has been crazy busy in the best kind of way. From seeing C.W. Stoneking play in a beautiful old church on Wednesday, to dancing so much on Friday that both of my shoes broke resulting in many the embarrassing tumble, I'm positively beat. I must say I'm looking forward to a rainy afternoon rugged up on the couch, cup of tea in hand, catching up on the final episode of Call the Midwife.

Addison Road

Firstly, from the bottom of my heart I'd like to thank you all for the overwhelmingly supportive comments left on my last post. I wasn't expecting to be flooded with such kindness, my chest is still puffed out and cheeks still tinged a healthy shade of pink as a result.

I've spent the last few hours nestled on the couch queueing a bunch of posts so this time I mean it when I say I have plenty more posts coming your way! These photographs were snapped this morning at Addison Road markets in Marrickville. I must say I'm delighted to be living a stones throw away from this local institution. Moseying around with a coffee in one hand, the other free to pat the endless stream of handsome pooches and sample the local treats is the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday morning.

With the help of curling implements from Jacinta of Dames of Distinction and this perfect YouTube tutorial from Riikka and Jirina, I am inching closer and closer towards my dream 30s Harlow waves. After seven years of a pin straight bob it hasn't been the easiest of hair transitions. Many a morning I've let out a shriek when I look in the mirror and see less of myself and more of a poodle.... But thankfully theres no hair disaster that a trusty silk bandana can't fix. For gals that enjoy a good curl set, whats your favourite method?
